Professional Counsellor, MA hons, PG Dip.Counselling (mNZAC)

An NZAC  certified person-centred counsellor since 2007 and Professional Supervisor for seven years, I offer an eclectic range of therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT),  Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Brief Solution Focussed Therapy (BSFT), ACT, Interactive Drawing Therapy (IDT), Sandtray and Dream Therapy.

My current Private Practice is predominantly supervision of counselling trainees, school counsellors and private practitioners.

Up until 2019 I led the counselling team at Papatoetoe High for sixteen years and prior to that - Manager of Student Services and Pastoral Care at St. Mary's College.

As a school counsellor I  worked with clients experiencing a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, grief, sleep disorders, trauma, grief, nightmares, Asperger's Syndrome and relationship issues.

My private practice is located in Onehunga.  I also work online through platforms such as Zoom.

In 2018, Balboa Press published my first self-help book called "Being with Asperger's" and in 2019 a children's book in the genre of grief and loss entitled "Poppa's Present." I have also published articles on dreamwork in international and local publications including the "Counselling Today."  I am the editor of the online bulletin for DNANZ (Dream Network Aotearoa).

My hourly rate is $100 for trainees up to $130 for employed counsellors.  I am also available for short-term contracts at $150 p/h rate.
